PortSide Fundraiser: sail on Sloop Clearwater and hear ship cat tales
Enjoy a sail on historic ship Clearwater for a good cause! And learn about ship cats too! Clearwater has donated this sail to PortSide, sponsored by our ship cat Chiclet.
PortSide is teaming up with the sloop Clearwater to present a very special opportunity. Take a sunset sail on the Clearwater while listening to PortSide talk about ship cats, both historic and current (i.e. Chiclet). We have been collecting Red Hook cat WaterStories for RedHookWaterStories.org, and will recount them with pride. There are tales/tails of devotion, hairy escapes, rescues, bullies and international entanglements.
This is a fundraiser for PortSide NewYork. Ticket prices start at only $40, and you can make additional donations.
The Sloop Clearwater will set sail from PortSide NewYork's ship Mary Whalen. The Mary Whalen is located in Red Hook, Brooklyn's Atlantic Basin, Pier 11, Brooklyn, NY 11231, next to the Red Hook stop of the NYC Ferry. Detailed directions are available on our website.
